Mindfulness <3

IMG_14170913_1

“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment and nonjudgmentally.” ~ Jon Kabat-Zinn

Yeaaahh! There’s so many beautiful things to be mindful of and tune into using all the senses we have!

Especially this season! I love the holiday season! All the lovely fragrances and decor! This year it’s hot as hell in Philadelphia! It’s often freezing cold & snowing by now and this year people are still walking around in shorts! Walking to work today, it felt like Summer!

I love cold weather but at least with it so warm, work is opened more days. We often close for “bad” weather. And another great thing about warm temps is some flowers are still in bloom and Summer bugs haven’t all died off. I love those things!

One visited me tonight at work.

It kind of sucks because we already had Spring & Summer this year! We don’t need another. But it’s still beautiful and I’m looking at the bright side!

😀

Much love to you!

Random Inspiration #5 {Christmas Cheer}

“Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.” ~Norman Vincent Peale

There’s nothing that brings in the Christmas spirit like watching the movie, Home Alone! Especially while drinking a Snickerdoodle cookie iced latte!

Home Alone is the most hilarious movie no matter how many occasions I see it! It never gets old and I laugh as if it’s the first moment I’m seeing it! Lol

And I love the end, so sweet and inspiring!

Snickerdoodle iced lattes with whipped cream are the most delicious iced lattes I ever tasted! I wish they were out all year long!

Sunshine :-D

 “My dear,
In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.
In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile.
In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.
I realized, through it all, that…
In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.
Truly yours,
Albert Camus “

Hello Sweethearts!!!

Today is an extremely cold day, here in Philadelphia, PA, USA and many other places.   I heard that in some places it’s the coldest day in 102 years!   :-O
I love cold weather. I love all the four Seasons and when they’re in the process of changing.   But I keep thinking of all the people who don’t love cold weather, ones who are at a disadvantage when the temps drop dramatically. There are people who are devastated and in mortal danger when the weather is severely cold and bitter.
People and animals who live outside, people who struggle with certain mood disorders that exacerbate or appear throughout cold weather, ones with pain disorders which flare up in the cold…and just people who outright loathe cold weather like this.
I hope all of the homeless people are off the streets now and that everyone stays safely warm during this extreme coldness. I hope that everyone will find the strength & comfort needed to endure any pain that may be going on.

And if you need a little extra sunshine today, I would love to send you some!    :-D. And if you can, I hope you will send it along to someone else who may need it!
Here are some lovely quotes for you! 🙂

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.

John Ruskin

“Love, whether newly born, or aroused from a deathlike slumber, must always create sunshine, filling the heart so full of radiance, thAt it overflows upon the outward world.”
Nathaniel Hawthorne

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”
Lewis Carroll

Spring passes and one remembers one’s innocence.
Summer passes and one remembers one’s exuberance.
Autumn passes and one remembers one’s reverence.
Winter passes and one remembers one’s perseverance.
Yoko Ono

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.”

[Meditations Divine and Moral]
Anne Bradstreet

Of course I’ll hurt you. Of course you’ll hurt me. Of course we will hurt each other. But this is the very condition of existence. To become spring, means accepting the risk of winter. To become presence, means accepting the risk of absence.
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

And

Remember, if there’s no stars or sun, shine your own light on the world!

Here’s a tip I read for staying warm:

Whenever coming inside from the freezing outdoors, remember to shiver and say “brrr.”

Lol I read it on “The Onion” silly newspaper. ;-p

I’m Gonna Spend Another Fall in Philadelphia…<3

image

My long lost friend is here once again, Fall!! And what better city to be in than Philadelphia?!?! The cool nights are just about here, I’m already seeing crunchy, colorful leaves appearing, the pumpkin Spice stuff is back!! I’m so happy! Yay!!
;-D

Here’s a poem I like:

“Fall will soon be here again,
That special time of year
When colored leaves of red and gold
Will suddenly appear.

Fall will soon be here again,
And joyful I will be
Because it is the season
When my heart feels glad and free.

Fall will soon be here again;
Tomorrow it will start,
And I shall feel both happiness
And beauty in my heart.

Fall will soon be here again
And Summer will be done,
But Autumn is the time of year
When my life o’erflows with fun.”

~Hope C. Oberhelman

So yeah, as Hall & Oates says “I’m gonna spend another Fall in Philadelphia”!!!

I hope you all are having a beautiful day or night wherever you are! 😉

“Arthur Christmas” & a beautiful life lesson <3

On one of the blogs I read called “Positively PImageresent” an author of one of the entries/articles makes a short list comprised of some of her favorite Christmas movies and the life lessons they convey.

They’re not all just about holiday cheer and decorations and presents galore! They convey important life lessons that we can all benefit by being reminded of.

For example on the list is Rudolph’s story and about how he was bullied for being “different” and how it’s ok to be different and we should accept and cherish diversity.

And the Grinch movie shows how a person can be persuaded by the better and have a softer and warmer heart, by the attitudes and love of others.

I loved reading the list and descriptions of the movies and decided to add one of my own that is not on that list.

“Arthur Christmas”

When I saw this movie in the theatre I found it so sweet and incredibly entertaining but it also has a wonderful and beautiful message. In the movie Santa Clause delivers presents to children around the globe but one little girl is forgotten when there is some sort of glitch and her present falls and never makes it to Santa’s sleigh. Arthur wants to get this gift to the little girl so that she will not be excluded and heartbroken on Christmas day when she wakes up and realizes she was forgotten. People throughout the movie state that she’s only one child and it doesn’t matter to forget one person because the person is only one. But Arthur stands his ground even in the face of obstacles and is determined to stay true to the idea that every person matters. Every person is special and every person is someone and should be made to feel important and happy.

This beautiful message is so true. People are not only important in a collective sense. Every single individual person is important and matters to the world and others. No one is “just a person”. Every person deserves to be acknowledged and loved and never forgotten or regarded as unimportant.

This is not merely about a material Christmas gift.

I believe we should all go out of our way to help someone who is in need even if we don’t know that person. If you think of yourself and your own family and friends, you see that you have a story and you have a life and needs & desires and so do all your family and friends. And so do strangers. People you never met or do not know well are no different in the sense that they too have emotions and feelings and needs and desires and they all deserve equal consideration and attention.

So let’s always remember that, not just during the holiday season but all year long. ❤

I hope you all have a beautiful day/night!! It’s at night here in Philadelphia, Pa where I am!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Image

Well, not really. Not just yet but this girl can dream. 😉

I love how it feels like the season is changing now. To me, it’s incredibly beautiful when the seasons are in the process of changing. I know it’s supposed to get extremely hot again soon, like 80 degrees or whatever but for the last couple of days, it seems that fall is finally in the air after what, to me has felt like a long hot scorching summer. Summer is sweet! But I’m ready for cool weather, candy corn, delicious caramel apples, pumpkin spice coffee (which I am enjoying right now!!), hoodies, cold nights, crisp brightly colorful leaves, pumpkins, scarecrows….and even Santa Claus, pine trees, apple cinnamon, glistening snow, gingerbread people, Winter Wonderland, mistletoe, jingle bells, cozy, warm blankets at night, and cheesy, sappy old Christmas/holiday cheer music…and More!!! Yay!! Lol

I’m like a little girl deep in my heart! I get thrilled over simple pleasures and little kiddie things!! Lol But that’s alright! <3. Those are things that so many people overlook and outgrow or just feel too old for. But the truth is, we’re never too old to let that inner child run wild!

I’m just about over the excessive heat, air conditioners, bikinis, pools, sprinklers, bbq’s, longer hours of daylight, extreme humidity (eww), sticky haze, and all that good stuff. I’m ready to kiss it all goodbye until we meet again next year! 🙂

I find that the fall and winter seasons deeply inspire me.

There’s just so much to be happy about and look forward to in the fall and winter. Like all those little things I mentioned above!

And after a year goes by I find myself ecstatic as the season approaches.

I just love the feel in the air.

🙂

I have already downloaded some holiday music! Christmas songs are the best!!

I will never outgrow the thrill of holidays and festivities! Lolz!

This nearing season is like the world’s gift to me! ❤

This year, I will search for some fun seasonal activities or projects. I’m horribly unskilled at arts and crafts, drawing, creativity or whatever but that doesn’t mean I can’t still have fun and do all that anyway! 🙂

Last night my sister and me went to A.C. Moore and bought lots of Fall themed arts and crafts material to decorate with. We got an old pair of stiletto shoes and decorated them to look real pretty! And we’re quite proud of our accomplishments!

Another thing I would very much love to do is volunteer work helping people.

I looked online and found a hospital close to me where they need volunteers to work at the desk and comfort patients in like the emergency room.

That would warm my heart to help hurting people in situations like that.

I am in the process of filling out the application. It’s just that it’s kind of like getting a job I think. Even though it’s not paid work. So since I don’t have much work experience in that kind of environment I may not get chosen. But it certainly won’t hurt to try!
